American Eagle
United States Mint, in 1986, released American Eagle as the official gold bullion coin of the United States. The denominations were 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz denoting the weight of gold in each of them. The purity was 91.67% that is standard for 22 karat gold.
The depicts Lady Liberty with flowing hair who is holding a burning torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The background depicts the Capitol building. On the reverse side is depicted a male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and her hatchlings.
The face values are $5, $10, $25, and $50 selling for around $110, $225, $450, and $900 in the numismatic bullion market.
